Nothing Clean Yet on Tonight's Board
The full slate has been through the model since the numbers dropped this morning. Moneyline, spread, total, player props, every game, every market. Nothing has cleared yet.
That is not a complaint about the schedule. It is a function of what this time of year does to a board. Playoff-caliber lines tighten in a hurry because the sharp money arrives early, often within minutes of the opener posting, and by the time most people are looking at a game the obvious side has already been bet into something that looks like a coin flip. Side and total on the marquee games are usually the first things to get cleaned up. They are also the markets with the most liquidity, which is exactly why they stop being soft.
Where things tend to linger is further down the menu. Player props, specifically points, rebounds and threes, take longer to get properly priced, because the volume is thinner and the inputs are messier. Same story with second-half markets, which reprice off a smaller sample and a narrower window of attention. Those are the corners worth watching as the day develops and as more information filters in.
The threshold does not bend. A play posts when it clears the EV number and not before, and a slow night does not earn an exception. Forcing something onto the board to fill space is how good months turn into average ones.
When something clears, it lands.
